How I work

Think it through, build it small, check it properly.

Every project runs on the same loop, whether it is a pricing model, a Shopify store or a new product. I use AI to move faster; I decide what is right.

# a normal day on a project

Size the market and list the three questions that decide this.

Market sized from 4 sources. 1 figure could not be verified: flagged.

Build the first version and test it at phone, laptop and desktop width.

Built, tested, ready for review.

Speed helps. Getting it right matters more.

The loop

Five steps, every time

  1. Step 1

    Frame the question

What are we solving, for whom, and what does good look like in numbers?

  2. Step 2

    Gather evidence

Market, competitor and customer evidence, with every figure checked against its source.

  3. Step 3

    Plan in writing

A short spec or plan before any build, so everyone knows the target.

  4. Step 4

    Build in small rounds

Design and build in pieces small enough to review properly, with a working version early.

  5. Step 5

    Check, ship, measure

Every screen size, every link, accessibility and speed. Then it ships, and the numbers tell us what is next.

The toolkit

Skills I bring to every stage

  1. Careful analysisMarket sizing, competitor teardown and customer evidence, summarised into decisions.
  2. Designer’s eyeJourneys, prototypes and interfaces with care for type, spacing and motion.
  3. Hands-on buildingShopify, WordPress, custom plugins and product prototypes, built and tested myself.
  4. AI-assisted workResearch, specs, design and code with AI help, so more of my time goes on the parts that need judgement.
  5. Clear reportingDashboards and KPIs in Excel, Power BI and Google Analytics, so results are visible.
  6. Owner-readyGuides and simple controls, so whoever runs it next is never stuck.

Ground rules

What I never compromise on

  1. Decisions stay humanTools suggest options. I choose, and I own the result.
  2. Private stays privateClient data and confidential details stay where they belong.
  3. Nothing unverified shipsClaims are checked against sources. If it cannot be checked, it does not go out.

Questions

People often ask

Do you use AI?

Yes, as a specialist tool. I design AI-native workflows for research, drafting, design and code. They make me faster; they never replace my judgement, and every result is reviewed and tested before it ships.

What does a typical project look like?

A clear brief and plan first, a working version early, then short rounds of improvement guided by numbers and feedback.

Can you bring this way of working to my team?

Yes. I can show how I plan, research, review and test, and help set up workflows that fit your tools and your rules on data.

Want to see the method on a real problem?

Bring a question and I will show you how I would tackle it.
